INGREDIENTS:Each tablet contains: Esomeprazole 20mg (as Magnesium Trihydrate).
Do not use:- for children under 18 years of age.- if allergic to esomeprazole.- if allergic to any other proton pump inhibitor (omeprazole, rabeprazole, lansoprazole, pantoprazole).- if you are taking antiretroviral medicines, such as atazanavir.- if you are taking cilostazol a medicine used to treat pain and/or cramping in the lower leg (or arms) due to inadequate blood flow to the muscles.- if you are breastfeeding or intend to breastfeed.- -f you are experiencing weight loss, persistent regurgitation of food or vomiting, difficulty swallowing or symptoms of gastro-intestinal bleeding, except on medical advice- if you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant except on the advice of a doctor or pharmacist- if the expiry date printed on the pack has passed. Aspirin and indigestion are not recommended during the first few hours of taking Nexium 24HR Once Daily Dosing unless advised by your doctor. Use a reliable method of contraception (e.g. oral, vaginal, anal or other) while taking aspirin or indigestion. If you notice any of the following rare side effects you should stop taking this medicine and seek medical attention immediately: nausea, stomach pain, a high or low blood sugar, dizziness, trouble sleeping.
Symptoms of hypersensitivity to Magnesium include rash, itching or hives, swelling, rapid breathing, dizziness, and trouble sleeping. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention immediately.
Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to Magnesium or any of the ingredients listed at the end of this leaflet. Ask your pharmacist about the use of magnesium in children. This medicine may cause an allergic reaction. Do not use if you are also using birth control pills (e.g. Darmox, Darmop, IUDs, IRI, IUDs containing drospirenone).

Always take this medicine exactly as described in the Consumer Medicine Information leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist have told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is one tablet a day. - Do not take more than this recommended dose of one tablet (20 mg) a day, even if you don't feel an improvement immediately. - You may need to take Nexium 24HR for a few days before experiencing the full effect. - Nexium 24HR should be taken for at least 7 days and up to 14 days. - Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you do not feel better while taking Nexium 24HR. If symptoms persist or recur within 2 weeks of completing the course, consult your doctor. Further examination may be required.

Some medicines may be affected by Nexium 24HR, do not take it if you are taking it with other medicines that you buy without a doctor's prescription, such as tetracycline or beta-blockers such as atenolol.The act of swallowing a tablet can affect the frequency and severity of each side effects. Many side effects are mild or moderate, and if you experience one of the following symptoms, stop taking this medicine: nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness or drowsiness. Common side effects most people experiences are diarrhea and headache. Tell your pharmacist if you are taking any of these medicines, other medicines or any of the ingredients in this medicine or none of them is working as well as they have been told. This medicine may affect some other medicines, such as dexamethasone, triamcinolone, triazolam or proton pump inhibitors such as omeprazole, pomadex and amlodipine.Caution. This medicine may cause nausea, vomiting, constipation. If you experience any of these symptoms, stop taking this medicine and opportunity to miss a dose. If you experience any severe side effects it is important you understand how they can be managed. A small number of people who take Nexium 24HR develop an infection, so it is advisable to take Nexium 24HR immediately or at all times, even when other medicines are not working as well as they were.
